Summer Mantel

Summer has officially found its way to the beach. Sunny blue skies, ocean breezes, and hot, hot temps.  That means it's time for me to change our Spring mantel to a Summer mantel.  I love changing my decor but, I want it to be as easy and quick as I can make it. So, switching the Spring mantel over just took a couple of changes and it was done in less than 30 minutes. This is how it looks for summer.

Patriotic Deco Mesh Wreath

Summer is here and school will be ending this week.  That means lots of busy days with activities and family fun and celebrations.  One of the events we look forward to each summer is 4th of July.  Our family just loves to get together grill, swim and sit out under the stars to watch the fireworks.  It's such a fun time for each of us.  So, today I thought I would share one of the Patriotic 4th of July wreaths I just made.

Spring Wreath Done in a Frame

Spring has definitely arrived here at the beach.  On Sunday they opened our community pool and Miss A just had to jump in - of course, she was the only one that was brave enough to do so.  The temperature was 62* - a little too cool for me - but, she loved it!. I think it will be closer to mid July before I try jumping in... Last week I shared our sunny Spring blue and yellow mantel with you so, today I thought I would share a cute little blue and yellow Spring wreath in a frame you can make to go with your Spring decor.  This project is so simple and easy - you can have it done in about 30 minutes. Isn't it just too cute!

Spring Mantel Done in Blue and Yellow

Spring is in the air and I am so happy to finally see it here.  It seems like this has been the longest winter for us even though we did not have the mounds of snow and sub-zero temps that many of you had.    So, to celebrate this I put together a pretty blue and yellow Spring Mantel. I love how it brings so much color and cheerfulness to this room.

Beachy Deco Mesh Wreath

It's a beautiful day here today - the sun is bright and the temps are in the low 60's.  Spring is just around the corner and I, for one cannot wait for her to get here.  It seems this has been a very long winter - even at the beach.  I know I have not been blogging much but, I have taken this time to do some reading and studying.  I have been learning how to make deco mesh wreaths and beautiful chalkboards.    I can hardly wait to start sharing all the awesome new crafts and techniques I have been working on.  I think you are going to love them as much as I have making them.  So, today I am going to share this beautiful Beachy Deco Mesh Wreath I just finished.

DiY Winter Wreath Using Yarn

With all the wintry weather we have gotten this year, I thought it would be appropriate to make a winter wreath for our front door.  This was a very simple project that took very little time - using items I had lying around the house. A flat white styrofoam wreath form and some cream colored yarn are the base of this winter wreath.  The rest is just bits and pieces I had in my craft stash.  It's a fun project that is easily done while watching your favorite Netflix programs. And, it makes your front door just a little more inviting during these cold wintry days as you can see below. Let's get on with the very simple instructions so you can make one for your front door.

How to Create a Rustic Farmhouse Christmas Mantel Easily

This post contains affiliate links.  These links do not cost you anything however, they do give me a few pennies to help support the blog so I can continue to bring you great projects.

I like to change up our Christmas decor a bit each year by moving things around and making new vignettes.  But, this year I really wanted to change it up a lot and decided to go in a whole new direction in our family room.  I have used the same decor for several years and was really wanting a new look.  So, before Thanksgiving, I started looking around and getting some ideas.  I fell in love with red and black buffalo plaid fabric and if you've been following me you've seen a couple of projects I've made using it already.  So, I built my family room Christmas decor around that fabric and today I am going to share my Rustic farmhouse Christmas mantel with you.

Christmas is in full swing here at Vintage, Paint and more as I am sure it is at your home also.  There are boxes of Christmas ornaments and decor scattered about, half finished areas done, in progress crafts and lots of fun with family putting it all together.  So, finding something finished to bring to you this morning was a bit of a challenge.  However, I think you will absolutely love this project as much as I do.  A DIY Farmhouse Christmas Wreath made with a buffalo plaid deer head and a yarn wreath - rustic farmhouse to the max.

I have lived most of my adult life in the South and still it is so hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit when it's still so warm we have the windows open.  However, Christmas will soon be here and for those of us who love to craft our Christmas decor -  we need to get started.   I have been picking up a few things here and there to work with and am getting excited about putting it all together to share with you.  This year I am changing my decor up a bit and I think I'm going to love it.  I have fallen in love with all things red and black buffalo plaid and have lots of projects for you.  Today I'm going to show you a little hint of what I'm going to be doing - I have my first Christmas craft of the season for you.

Cotton Wreath Made from a Cotton Garland

This post contains affiliate links.

This summer I spent most of my time getting projects done for my grand daughter's upcoming wedding.  Then it had to be postponed.  Her fiance' is in the Marines and is being deployed. Since she has her heart set on a fall barn wedding she decided to wait till next fall.    So, I began putting all the things away - done projects, parts of projects and supplies to make more projects when I came across a piece of cotton garland I had leftover from one of the projects we did.

DIY Ornament Wreath

I have been busily getting out all the Christmas decorations as I am sure many of you have also been doing. Such a busy time of year for us all. I feel like I am behind and today is only December 1st.  Next year I am going to start getting my plans together earlier than this year (but I say that every year).  One can always hope.
Today I thought I would share with you a pretty little ornament wreath I made from Dollar Store items.  This wreath cost me under $10 to make. I saw one similar to it - not quite as full - at a local craft store for $30.  So if you're into DIY'ing like I am I'm sure you can make this simple little ornament wreath in an afternoon.

Vintage Christmas Wreath

I think you'll find today's project a little something unexpected.  At least it was for me.  When I found a bag of vintage jello molds (12 for $1) at the thrift store I really had no idea what I was going to do with them let alone make a Vintage Christmas Wreath out of them.  But, I needed a project for a group and these jello molds were sitting on my work desk begging me to do something with them.  I couldn't leave them sitting there so I created a great project for them.

Isn't this adorable - so whimsical and unexpected.  You would never believe it's made with vintage jello molds.  But with a little paint and glitter, I was able to transform them into this great little Vintage Christmas Wreath.

DIY Spring Wreath

Good morning everyone.
I have been doing a lot of work on the outside this past week even though it's been raining every day.  I almost have the front porch and flower bed finished so I will be revealing that later this week.  Just a couple more things to do. But for today I thought I would show you the Spring Wreath I made for the porch.

Spring Mantel 2015

Before I get into today's post I need to address an issue we just discovered.  Remember signing up for Vintage, Paint and more's emails so you wouldn't miss any of the projects and tutorials?  Well, we just discovered that they were being blocked due to a technical issue.  But with the help of an expert in this field we were able to get that issue resolved and now you will be receiving those emails just as you signed up for them.  Thank you so much for your patience in this manner and if you have any questions just ask in the comments below.  I will get back to you.

Good morning everyone.
Hope you all are having some beautiful weather where you are as we are here.  It has been so pretty we have been able to be outside most of each day this week just enjoying the sun and the ocean breezes with these wonderful warm temps.  I would have to say Spring has arrived.  And with that let's get on to today's post.

My how time flies.  It actually seems we were just making our New Years Goals and putting away Christmas - then the Valentine decorations and here we are thinking  of Spring already.  But when so many are still experiencing lots of snow it is hard to believe that it's just around the corner. So in celebration of Spring soon arriving I am going to show you a quick little Spring wreath you can make. This little wreath could be used for St.Patrick's Day as well as the Spring season.

Vintage, Paint and more... Blogger Christmas Series Logo

I have teamed up with  a few of my fellow bloggers to bring you the  Blogger Christmas Series. This is a collection of  Home Decor, Crafts, Holiday Tablescapes, Recipes and so much more to inspire you during this holiday season. Today I am bringing you   my Christmas entry.

Vintage, Paint and more... DIY vintage Christmas decor in an entry

Last year I decided to use all neutrals in our decor as you can see at Christmas 2013 - A Review.  I loved the way it turned out but my family (and I have to admit even I ) started missing the beautiful colors of red and green that come with Christmas.  So this year I decided to bring back the color and intersperse it among the neutrals.

Throwback Thursday - Pinecone Wreath

Vintage, Paint and more... winter wreath made from pine cones and spray painted

Since I am starting to get the Christmas decor out I thought I would share a project I did a couple of years ago with you today.   I made a pine cone wreath for our front door that I still use every year. I had wanted one of these for years but just kept putting off making one. Actually, I thought it would be quite difficult to do.  One day I just decided it was time to tackle it and sent Papa and Miss A to our backyard to pick up the pine cones to use.  Then I set out to make the wreath.
