Fall Entryway

Vintage, Paint and more... fall entry with black, white and gold painted pumpkins.

Good afternoon everyone...
Fall has finally come to the beach and I am absolutely thrilled about it... We have had the windows open for the last few days enjoying the sun and the breezes and the cool temps.  The trees are still all green except a few little maples that have begun to turn colors. The flowers are still blooming and it doesn't look much like fall but that's ok because the temps are down and that's the important part... I have been busy trying to "fallify"  our house and have been working on the entryway.

This is a bit different for me.  I usually go all out with the oranges, yellows and browns for fall but this year I decided to pull in the black from the little entry way bench that I love so much.  (You can read all about the "Welcome Bench" here)

Vintage, Paint and more... whimsically painted pumpkins done in black, white and cold

I painted my Dollar Tree pumpkins in black and white and trimmed them with gold glitter and paint.  I wanted something a little playful and whimsical so I striped one and polka - dotted the other.  Papa was a bit skeptical but after I had it all together he decided it wasn't too bad after all.  Just like the empty frames on the mantel this year... (You can check out that story here).

I also painted one pumpkin solid antique gold and sprinkled it with glitter. I had a burlap bag that I tied a bit of the burlap chevron ribbon onto that matches the door wreath I made. I filled it with fall leaves and pumpkins both orange and white... You really can't see them very well but it's supposed to look like we were just out picking up pumpkins at the local pumpkin patch.

Vintage, Paint and more... painted fall chalkboard

The chalkboard got a new look also. (How I made the chalkboard can be found here) I drew part of it free hand and then stenciled the letters on.  I wanted to keep with the geometric theme I had going here so stripes it was for this.  It will most likely get another face lift before Halloween though.

This is a view looking out from the front door. This space is quite small  and very difficult to photograph but it is bright and cheery and a little unexpected when you walk in the door.

Here you can see how it all ties in with the chevron wreath ( the tutorial for it is here)

I really like this space a lot and have so much fun making different scenarios for it each season. I am loving the black and white and it seems to be growing on the rest of the family.

Have you used the traditional fall colors this year or have you gotten a little daring and tried something really different?  Would love to hear about it in the comments.

Hoping this weather remains cool here and that you also are finally getting the fall temps.
Have a great week
and
get out there and create something you love.
