One Amazing Dress

Today I want to share something really fun with you.  A few mornings ago as I was nursing my morning cup of coffee trying to clear my usual morning brain fog perusing Facebook when I scrolled upon a picture that gave me one of those mouth-dropping, eye-popping, "Oh My Word" moments.  I have to say I was totally amazed.  This is the picture I saw.....

Little Fabric Pumpkins Tutorial

This post contains affiliate links please see my disclosure page for details.

Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. We were busy putting in a patio in our back yard while also keeping a close eye on the weather channel - Hurricane Irma is out there and it's still uncertain what path she is taking.  The next few days we will be preparing for the worst but, for today I am going to share a cute little fabric pumpkin I've been making.

Updated Master Bed

Written by: Cathy Carroll, Vintage, Paint and more...

Good morning friends,
Hope this finds you all doing well.
We are having the most lovely weather here at the beach
and
enjoying every minute of it.
I want to share a long over do project with you that  I have been meaning to get to.
I have been talking about redoing our bedroom for quite some time now
and
have finally gotten it to a place that I can begin to show you what I have been doing.
So, grab a cup of your favorite java or tea and come with me.
Our first installment will be the new bed linens....

Updated Master Bed - drop cloth ruffle on pillow sham, diy pillow sham, drop cloth pillow, French topography pillow

We have been living here for two years now and our bedroom was put on the back burner
so to speak.
I just had so many things to do that giving our room a makeover was not one of the priorities.
This January I finally decided it was time - no more putting things off.
I decided to start with the bed.
I do not have any before pictures because they were really embarassing.
I can tell you it was just a bed with sheets and a blanket on it.
Nothing fancy at all.

Drop Cloth and Lace Purse

Written by: Cathy Carroll

Today I have another drop cloth project for you.
If you have followed me for very long
you have come to realize I am in love with drop cloths.
I mean - In Love...
They are so versatile and easy to work with
and
wear like iron.
I use them to make everything.
(I get mine at Lowe's Hardware for $10)
So, it should come as no surprise that I used a drop cloth
when my granddaughter requested I make her a new purse.

Drop Cloth Owl Pillow

Written by: Cathy Carroll, Vintage Paint and more...

I have been working with drop cloth fabric a lot
and
have found I am totally in love with the final look -
Much like rustic linen.
It has so much texture and when combined with lace is beautiful.
I was working on a couple of projects
and
decided to make an owl pillow for one of my granddaughters.
Owl pillows are all the rage right now
and
one made of drop cloth just seemed to make sense to me.

A Handmade Christmas - Pillows

Written by: Cathy Carroll; Vintage, Paint and more...

Not everyone thinks of pillows as their go to
decorating element.
But, pillows can be the one thing that adds that
simple elegant touch of color
that is needed to carry off your decorating theme.

Drop Cloth Pumpkins

Good morning friends...
This morning I am going to show you my drop cloth pumpkins I made.  I have seen so many kind of pumpkins, made out of so many types of mediums this fall and I am in love with all of them.  Especially the cloth ones- sweaters, velvet, old shirts, burlap, vintage handkerchiefs.... so, I decided to go to my favorite fabric and make drop cloth pumpkins.
