Is it me or does this Winter just seem to go on and on and on?
I know that after last week
and the ice storm of the decade
I am more than enough ready for Spring to be here.
Having this in the South is not cool.
It is quite pretty to look at but we handle
hurricanes better than this ice.
Anyway, I am ready for Spring.
I was at Cracker Barrel the other day and came upon the
cutest little birds I have ever seen.
Of course, I had to have some.
They were only $.99 each and are actually salt shakers.
I picked up three to put in a little vignette.
Just a small white dish filled with some sea glass
with the birds sitting around it.
A painted blue mason jar filled with some statis
and
we have a vignette that speaks Spring to me.
Makes me smile and know that it is getting closer everyday.
Loving these little guys
and
at the price may have to go back and pick up a few more.
You can never have too many birds......
Are you anxiously waiting for Spring like I am?
Tell us in the comments what you are doing to usher Spring in at your home.
and
Leave me a comment - I love to hear from each and every one of you.
Until next time
have fun creating something you love....

We never got winter and my garden is already looking like spring. Right now my preparation for our real spring is to find drought tolerant bushes that flower. And, we are looking how to build a rain barrel to gather the little rain we do get so we can water our garden during this drought.

ReplyDeleteWe northerners are pretty tired of winter too. Waiting breathlessly for spring to arrive! http://www.nancherrow.com/2014/02/welcome-fridays-unfolded-99.html
ReplyDeleteVery sweet little birds...I'm a little tired of winter here in the South as well.
ReplyDeleteOh Goddess, so ready for spring! This winter has been horrid, and I live in SE Wisconsin and am used to cold, hard winters. But this one is the worst in 30 years, so they are saying in weather forecasts on t.v. Nasty. Ground is deep frozen down 6 feet -- will take a month of warm sunny days to thaw it out but warm and sunny are mutually exclusive around here this season. We are 30 degrees below normal temperature, but also below normal snow. What we have though, hasn't left since November, it's frozen into ice! Your birds are soooo cute, and what a great price for them, wow! The dish you put them in reminds me of water in the summer and birds splashing in a bath, just lovely. I often buy cute little salt/pepper shakers as knick-knacks to display because they are inexpensive (from the Family Dollar) and come seasonally, so I have winter and autumn, and will be on the look-out for spring-themed items soon. Nothing much yet at the Family Dollar, but merchandise changes regularly so I will keep an eye out. I haven't felt like decorating for spring at all, I've still got my winter vignettes around the house and deer in snow (my theme for this season) framed all over, LOL! Can't think about spring when I see unending icy snow out of my windows and the squirrels still have their winter fur on! Visiting today from Cozy Little House Tweak it Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty decorations. I am so ready for spring too--but tomorrow is still going to be below 0! Crazy! Thanks for linking up with the Bloggers Brags Pinterest Party. I have pinned your post to the Bloggers Brags Pinterest Board!
ReplyDeleteCathy - this has been a long, hard spring - your display is just too sweet! Soon spring will truly be here! I appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
