18 Amazing Back to School Ideas

Hi everyone, 
I am having trouble believing that it's really time for school to start - but it is indeed.  Next week "Miss A" has her first day of 5th grade and "Sissy" will be away at college.  Our "Mimi" is entering her senior year in high school and "Bubba" is starting high school - then our other grands in Delaware are going to be a freshman and a first year middle schooler.  My how time flies.  
Needless to say we have been busy getting things ready for all these kiddos to start back on the right foot.  So when Elizabeth Joan Designs put together a round up of amazing back to school ideas I was thrilled to find so many awesome ones to help us start this school year.  But then I was really thrilled to see that they had included one of our very own ideas - DIY Dorm Decor - we put together for "Sissy".   Don't just take my word for it check these out and visit a few - I'm sure you'll agree these ladies put together the best of the best!

Tweak It Inspiration Thursday #2

Hello everyone.  

Today is Tweak It Thursday Inspiration.  I am having so much fun doing these - I hope you are enjoying them just as much.  Today Tammy will be bringing you the feature so I am going to turn it over to her.

Welcome back to another Tweak it Inspiration Thursday-Yellow and Blue Table Setting 

This is our second edition of "Tweak it Inspiration Thursday"  I am very excited that it is my week to host and feature one of you today!  I couldn't wait to share who and what  inspired me from last weeks party.  Did you happen to see the first "Tweak it Inspiration Thursday" and what inspired Cathy?  You can check that out here.
Before I get to what inspired me,  I would like to ask you all a huge favor.  As you now know last week Cathy featured Janet from Sweet Inspirations by JP Designs , I just learned some very sad news, her husband has suffered from a heart attack and he is still in the hospital and scheduled for surgery Tuesday, by the time you read this, I am in hopes he has had this surgery and on his way to recovery.  A very sweet co-worker of Janet's husband  set up a Go Fund It,  If you can help donate anything please do- if not please pray for Ralph, Janet and her family. Thank you!

Today I will be featuring Amy from Atta Girl Says on her adorable Black and Yellow Elegant Table Setting and Ideas.  The details she put into this table are so inspiring and quite the "Bee's Knees" along with an amazing tutorial she presents - a video on how to fold pinwheel napkins.

DIY Dorm Decor - Part 1

Hi everyone. 
 Can you believe it's that time of year already? I mean school is starting and fall is upon us and it seems like Summer just started last week.  This year has flown by especially fast as we have passed so many milestones with our family.  And with this week yet another - our second oldest grand daughter "Sissy" is off to college.  I knew this day was coming - but did it have to come so soon?  My how I am going to miss her. She asked me to do some decor for her dorm room - so I am going to sharing a little series of DIY Dorm Decor with you.  All of these projects have come from thrift stores or were salvaged from the trash - so they are budget friendly and as always with me - quite easy.
Our first is an updated bulletin board and monogram frame to brighten those blah dorm rooms.

Junk Revision Challenge - Welcome Sign

Hi everyone.  
Today I am joining several other DIY bloggers in the new monthly Junk Revision Challenge. 

 Each month we are given a theme to work with.  Then we try to find an item  to salvage from the trash or a thrift store  and re-purpose it to fit that theme. On the first Monday of each month each of us will share our item in the Junk Revision Challenge post on each of our blogs.  This month's challenge was "an outdoor project".  I decided to make a welcome sign to hang at our front entry.
