Throwback Thursday - Winter Mantel
It's definitely winter here. We have had a week of rain, rain, rain and temps dropping down to the 30's with wind chills of 20's. Not really my favorite weather for sure. I am beginning to think we will never see the sun again. I am not a fan of winter and it actually puts me into hibernation mode when it gets cold. So I have done nothing since Christmas. Today I am bringing you a Throwback Thursday post from a couple years.

Throwback Thursday - Pinecone Wreath
Since I am starting to get the Christmas decor out I thought I would share a project I did a couple of years ago with you today. I made a pine cone wreath for our front door that I still use every year. I had wanted one of these for years but just kept putting off making one. Actually, I thought it would be quite difficult to do. One day I just decided it was time to tackle it and sent Papa and Miss A to our backyard to pick up the pine cones to use. Then I set out to make the wreath.

Throwback Thursday - Halloween Candy Jars
Written by Cathy Carroll
Hi Everyone,
I have a fun Halloween project I am going to share with you today that I am pulling out of the archives for Throwback Thursday. I don't do too much Halloween decorating these days like I did when my boys were young but this project is so simple and so cute - you can make it in an afternoon.

Throwback Thursday - Drop Cloth Pumpkins
Hi everyone.
Hope this is finding you all enjoying some great fall weather where you are. We are still have very warm temps but a cool front came through and we finally hit the low 70's. I'll take that over those 90's any day of the week. I am so looking forward to Fall to kick in here.
Today is Throwback Thursday and I am bringing back an easy little project I did for Fall last year.

TBT - Fall Mantel of 2013
I have been visiting around blogland a bit and have noticed all the fall decor that is starting to show up. I am still putting mine together - a bit slow this year and have nothing new ready yet so thought I would show you my mantel from last year before I show you this year's mantel.

Throwback Thursday - Ana White Shelf
It's Throwback Thursday and I want to bring back a little family project we did back in 2012.
I found the most wonderful shelf unit on Ana White's site - Build a Rustic X Console.
Ana has a plethora of the most marvelous plans for all kinds of furniture and they are simple to follow - so my son says. My granddaughter's needed a shelf unit in their room for their TV, books, DVD's - all the things girls collect. They fell in love with this one the same as I did. So we proceeded to build it.

TBT - Happy Anniversary
We are still on vacation and having a great time in Florida.
Since this is Throwback Thursday and tomorrow is our 45th wedding anniversary I thought I would share a really old pic with you all. This is a snapshot of us on our wedding day. Our professional wedding pics were lost in a fire at the photographers. So, this is what we have.
Anyway, take a look at the style, lol.... crew cuts, bow ties, winged glasses with a glare from the flash, bouffant hair styles - we really thought we were stylin'. So fun to look back on those long ago days.
We'll be back soon.
Hugs,

Throwback Thursday - Girly Girl Room
Two years ago we moved to the house we are living in right now. Miss A had outgrown all of her furniture as children do and needed a whole new makeover done for her room. I have done each and every one of our granddaughters rooms - and it was her turn. After discussing it she decided she wanted a pink girly girl room. So, I set out making a girly girl room - first by pinning lots of ideas onto my Miss A's Space Pinterest board. If you go check it out you can see where lots of our inspiration comes from. This room is filled with lots of DIY and craft ideas as I made or recycled almost everything in here. This post is also filled with lots of pictures of what we did DIY and shows you what you can do on a tight budget.

TBT Retro Armoir
Last week I brought back the loft guest room that we redid for our grand kids one summer. This week I thought I would bring back the retro armoir we did for that room as it is one of the focal points. I had a lot of fun doing this armoir because of the colors I chose for it.

TBT - Loft Guest Room
Today I am going to bring back the loft as it was in the summer of 2012. When we moved here that spring it was totally put to the bottom of the list to do anything with as we really didn't need it at the time. But, then the grandkids were coming for the summer and we suddenly needed a guest room quickly. As you can see it is simply a big empty room with lots of potential.

Throwback Thursday - Painted Flower Table
Today I am pulling out an oldie that I love.
Every once in a while I go way outside the box
and
do something completely different for me.
We had this little run of the mill - everyone has had one - table
that needed something done to it.
I was in the middle of remaking Miss A's very pink bedroom
so,
I decided to paint it to look like a flower.....

Throwback Thursday - Summer Entryway 2013
It's time again for me to come up with a summer decor idea for
my entryway.
I have an idea of what I want to do
and
have even started working on it.
But, since it's Throwback Thursday I thought
I would look at last years entryway.
Last year I used some really bright, hot colors
reminisent of the beach
and
beach life here.

Throwback Thursday - Funky Little Desk
Good morning everyone.
I thought that we would have a little fun today
with a
Throwback Thursday post.
I chose a little desk that I did two years ago
when I was creating Miss A's space in our new home.
I absolutely love this little desk and you can read about it

Tweak It Tuesday - Book Page Columns
Written by: Cathy Carroll
Today I am going to start a new weekly series - Tweak It Tuesday.
This is a series that will spotlight posts and/or projects I have done in the past and for whatever reason have decided to tweak them by taking better pictures, updating the content and or showing new ways to use them.I am going to start the series with my Decorative Book Page Columns I made in February of 2012. Even though they are two years old I still use them all the time in my decor. Because they have appeared so much I have several requests as to how these were made and thought I would give you a little updated tutorial on them...

French Sewing Box
I was really excited about this project when I first started it but, it proved to be one of the most frustrating ones I've done in a long time.
