Spring is in the Air

It's hard to believe but Spring has sprung here at the beach.  We were out for a bit this afternoon and the pear trees are in full bloom, the azaleas are beginning to bloom and a lot of the trees have tiny little leaf buds just starting.  And, of course, the dreaded yellow sticky pollen of the South has started collecting on everything,

We love spending our days out here enjoying the sun and warm breezes.  Our community is close knit so we also get to spend a ot of time chatting with neighbors.  Such a lovely place to be.

I have been adding a bit of Spring to our home a little at a time.  I am so ready for a change.  Right now I am in the process of adding green plants and colorful faux flowers.  They bring so much peace and joy to our home.  I love how they can change a space in just minutes.

I love how adding a few green plants to this hutch turned library change it so much - giving it that Spring vibe I'm so needing right now.  Now, I just need to get to the rest of the room and Spring it up a bit.  I'll be working on that this week.

So, for now I am going to sign off and I will be back this week with another bit of fun for you.  Stay tuned I've got lots of great stuff to share with you all.

DIY VINTAGE HEARTS

Hello, Hello, Hello!!!
Wow: It has been a long time since I've written a blog post.  The holidays are over and it's a new year so I thought it was time to revisit this abandoned bit of internet space and reconnect with my friends.  I hate that I lost touch with you all.
Last year was a crazy year - I'm sure you all will agree and I'm hoping to return to some normalcy this year if possible thus - a return to writing and sharing all things vintage, crafty and fun.
So, today I thought I would start with a really easy, fun, and cute little vintage heart that you can use for your tiered trays, holiday trees, baskets, or just sit on your shelves for some cuteness.
These are easy to do and you can have a whole basket of them done in no time - and... the best part is you can use things you probably have lying around the house.

DIY Beach House Sign

It's a beautiful morning and I am sitting on the back porch enjoying the sun and breezes we get here.  I love that I can sit out here and work to the sound of the birds, the waterfall and the chimes - such sweet music to work with - if we could just have it year round. Ahh, yes...
Today, I thought I would share the Beach House sign I made for our Spring/Summer mantel with you.  I am all about keeping things as simple as I can so I used Chalk Couture's chalk paste and transfer to make a sign that would I would be able to use through both seasons.

Summer Mantel

Summer has officially found its way to the beach. Sunny blue skies, ocean breezes, and hot, hot temps.  That means it's time for me to change our Spring mantel to a Summer mantel.  I love changing my decor but, I want it to be as easy and quick as I can make it. So, switching the Spring mantel over just took a couple of changes and it was done in less than 30 minutes. This is how it looks for summer.
