Today, I thought I would share the Beach House sign I made for our Spring/Summer mantel with you. I am all about keeping things as simple as I can so I used Chalk Couture's chalk paste and transfer to make a sign that would I would be able to use through both seasons.

DIY Beach House Sign
It's a beautiful morning and I am sitting on the back porch enjoying the sun and breezes we get here. I love that I can sit out here and work to the sound of the birds, the waterfall and the chimes - such sweet music to work with - if we could just have it year round. Ahh, yes...
Today, I thought I would share the Beach House sign I made for our Spring/Summer mantel with you. I am all about keeping things as simple as I can so I used Chalk Couture's chalk paste and transfer to make a sign that would I would be able to use through both seasons.

Beachy Deco Mesh Wreath
It's a beautiful day here today - the sun is bright and the temps are in the low 60's. Spring is just around the corner and I, for one cannot wait for her to get here. It seems this has been a very long winter - even at the beach. I know I have not been blogging much but, I have taken this time to do some reading and studying. I have been learning how to make deco mesh wreaths and beautiful chalkboards. I can hardly wait to start sharing all the awesome new crafts and techniques I have been working on. I think you are going to love them as much as I have making them. So, today I am going to share this beautiful Beachy Deco Mesh Wreath I just finished.

Beach Inspired Decor
Hi everyone. Hope you're able to keep cool during these ever so hot days of July we are having. We are doing a lot of indoor projects or going to the beach since its just too hot to go out until evening. So today I thought since it is beach weather around here I would bring you a few of the beach inspired projects I have done to give our home that beach feel I so love.

Surf Board Inspired Table
Good morning everyone.
Today I am going to share a project from a while back that I never got around to sharing. I had lost the pics but just found a couple of them.(I apologize for the lack of pictures in this post.) It's what I call the Surfer Table or the Surf Board Inspired Table. It was a table that my son had some fun with and painted to look like a surf board. He used to surf when we lived in Florida and when he saw it at the thrift store said he thought the shape kind of reminded him of an old surfboard. What do you think? Did he call it right?

DIY Raffia Wrapped Votives
Hi everyone.
I have a really cute and simple little craft for you today. Bright beach inspired DIY raffia wrapped votive candles for your patio or anywhere. They are also budget friendly as all the supplies came from the Dollar Tree. Aren't they adorable in this little beach vingette.
I started with a couple of votive candles in jars and a couple of rolls of raffia that I found at our Dollar Tree. The raffia comes in packages of three skeins - a royal blue, a turquoise and a lime green - bright, very fun colors.
I simply wrapped each votive jar with the raffia using a little hot glue here and there to keep it in place.
Then I added a little bit of twine by winding it around and tying it in place. I glued a shell over the knot and wallah - you have a very cute little votive to use on your beach inspired patio or any where that you like.
Here are mine on my Twine Wrapped Table I made. I placed them in a little beach inspired vignette with a "faux" beach glass painted bottle wrapped with twine and filled with some beach grasses and a bucket of shells and twig balls.
So cute - so beachy - and so quick to make. I love these bright colors.
Do you have a beach decor going for the summer? These would be perfect for it. Tell me about what you have been doing - love to hear from you in the comments below
Until next time - have fun creating something you love.
I will be linking up to the parties listed on Where I Party page. Please go by and check them out - you will find so much great creativeness and inspiration at each one.

Simple Summer Vignette
Hi everyone. Hope your week is going well. We are in the middle of a hot spell - temps in the mid 90's with the heat index in the 100's. Needless to say this Mama is not spending much time outside until late evening. So this week I'm bringing you a bit more of the summer tweaking I have been doing enabling me to still be productive but inside. I put together a simple little vignette for the ottoman in our family room.

Summer in the Entryway
Good morning everyone.
So this week - after all the end of school activities, graduation exercises and parties, and a visit from a special out of town guest - I decided to do a bit of tweaking and bring summer into our entryway. I felt it was time to finally take down all the Spring decor - you know all those cute little rabbits and eggs - time for them to go away till next year. I didn't do much to change it from Spring to Summer but it does look different.
This is how it looked for Spring.

Faux Fishing Buoys
I think I have probably done an over kill on the beach inspired decor this summer but, living at the beach gives me so much inspiration. Believe me, I could probably fill a year with fun beach inspired projects. On that note I will tell you that this is the last one for this summer. That is unless I find one I just can't resist!

Faux Sea Glass Centerpiece
If you have followed my blog for very long I know you have seen some of my previous faux sea glass projects. I love making these because you can customize them to your decor just by mixing colors and you can use any old clear glass object - recycled, thrifted or new. Whatever strikes your fancy at the time.

Wordless Wednesday - Super Moon
This past week we had what some people call the "Super Moon". This is when the moon is actually closest to the earth that it gets. We decided to go to the beach to take a few pics and this is one of what we enjoyed that evening basking in the balmy breezes. It was beautiful.
I will be linking to the parties listed on the "I Party At" page above.

A Beach Inspired Vignette
I have been so inspired by the beach this year that almost everything I am doing reflects that. Today I am bringing you another beach inspired vignette that I have put together that sits on our ottoman in the living room.

Beach Inspired Porch
Written by: Cathy Carroll for Vintage, Paint and more...
I am a bit slow about putting up this post on our summer porch - but, it has been raining and was really quite difficult to get any kind of pictures taken. We had a couple of bad storms that actually caused a small water leak in our roof that is having to be repaired today - hopefully, before the predicted storms take place. But, enough with that - let's get on to the subject at hand. Our summer porch....

Beach Inspired Mantel
Summer is in full swing now....
and with that brings us thoughts of beaches and the ocean.
Living here at the beach really influences the way I do my decorating.
This year I wavered between doing a
full out patriotic decor or just skipping it
and
going straight to my beach decor I love.
