Fall Mantel

Vintage, Paint and more... a vintage mantel done with a paper leaf wreath and dollar store pumpkins

It's beginning to look a little like fall around here.  I finally got everything done to put my Fall Mantel together this weekend.  I really didn't have to do much because I already had most all these things but, with the temps and humidity we have been having I just was not motivated to put out pumpkins and fall leaves yet  This year I decided to go with the traditional colors of fall.  I love the oranges, golds and browns. that are so prevalent now.  Last year I did a more neutral design and although I liked it I wasn't in love with it.

Vintage, Paint and more... paper leaf wreath on chalkboard

So let me take you on a little tour of the mantel.  I have the new wreath I made as the focal point. This wreath is made out of scrapbook and book page paper - I will be doing a tutorial on it next week.  I decided it would be best showcased on a chalkboard I made out of an old picture that I had.  Then I simply wrote the word FALL below the wreath.  I love the way it makes a statement with the  contrast of the oranges against the black.

Vintage, Paint and more... twine wrapped bottle with faux flowers and dollar store pumpkins for a traditional fall mantel

On the left of the mantel I placed a couple of old books sans covers and then set a twine wrapped bottle that I filled with "faux" sunflowers, grasses and leaves on top of them.  I placed a couple of dollar store pumpkins and a white wooden candle stick with a fat candle tied with raffia next to the pumpkins.

Vintage, Paint and more... vintage lantern with dollar store pumpkins and wooden candle sticks for a vintage fall mantel

On the right side I placed a vintage lantern  with a couple of dollar store pumpkins stacked inside.  Next to it are two wooden candlesticks with candles tied with raffia and another small pumpkin.  A very simple arrangement of things I already had except the wreath which I made.

I really love the simplicity and vibrant colors of this mantel.  And - the fact that it was quite low cost since I already had everything.

How bout you?  Have you started your fall decor or are the temps where you live leaving you unmotivated also?  I would love to hear about what you are up to.  Leave me a comment below.  I answer all of them through email.

Until next time - have fun creating something you love.
Hugs,

I will be linking up to the parties listed on my Where I Party page.  Please go visit them and see all the great projects you can find there.
