Thrift Store Finds

Written by: Cathy Carroll; Vintage, Paint and more...

Fall is in full swing here at the beach.
The days have been mostly sunny and breezy.
Perfect for being out and about
and
there is nothing I like more
than
thrift shopping on these days.
So, the other day Papa and I set out to run some errands
and
just happened to stop at our favorite thrift store.
Sometimes I find nothing and sometimes I really hit it
like this day.

thrift store items on table

There are just some days that I can go in there
and
they have all sorts of neat little things
that I can use in future projects
or
things I have actually been looking for.

cream, sugar, candlestick

Here is a small cream and sugar set I found.
The color not so great
but,
a little spray paint and they will be perfect.
The candle stick has a mate and the detail on them are awesome.
I love them.
Then a small wooden picture frame.
I pick up any I can find.
I am always in need of picture frames for all sorts of projects.
I do have something special in mind for this one though.

candlestick, pitcher, lantern

The matching candlestick.
A white milk glass pitcher that I fell in love with immediately.
A black lantern that will definitely get a makeover.
A paperback book with just the right amount of aging
on the edges of the pages - for free.
Some flatware that you will see in another projects.

tin trough, candlestick, tray

And in the center is a metal trough type box which will be
getting a makeover
and a wooden tray that will also be getting some paint.all items on table

And now you know why I love to go thrifting...
Finding just the right items is so much fun.
Makes me want to go every day.
What have you found lately that was just what you were looking for?

Until next time
have a great day and go thrifting -
you never know what you may find.....
