Tin Can Therapy

Written by: Cathy Carroll for Vintage, Paint and more...

Tin Can Therapy - decorated, recycled, painted tin cans

Today, I'm going to show you a little
"Tin Can Therapy"
that I did.
I needed some organization for all my
pens, scissors, and tools that I use in my craft room.
I wanted something that was
pretty, vintage, and usable....
I have used tin cans in different projects over the years and so,
decided that I would use them for this also.

Tin Can Therapy - vintage, decorated tin cans

I love the way they turned out.
These are so easy to make...
I saved tin cans
( it took only a couple days at our house to get these.)
Then I painted them all inside and out
with DIY white chalk paint.
I keep some made up at all times for just such
spur of the moment projects.
Then I just began embellishing them with bits of
burlap, lace, jute, raffia, and scrapbook supplies.
It took very little time and was so relaxing for me
(thus the therapy portion).

I placed several on a lazy susan that I have had forever.
( You can pick these up at Wal-Mart in the storage section)
This one holds all my different pens and markers I use.

I also stacked a larger one on top of the smaller ones.
I like the added interest the height brings.

Some were just placed on a small box next to my desk -
these hold scissors and scrapbook tools....

So pretty, so vintage and so useful..
fill my need completely ....
