Summer Mantel

Summer has officially found its way to the beach. Sunny blue skies, ocean breezes, and hot, hot temps.  That means it's time for me to change our Spring mantel to a Summer mantel.  I love changing my decor but, I want it to be as easy and quick as I can make it. So, switching the Spring mantel over just took a couple of changes and it was done in less than 30 minutes. This is how it looks for summer.

Not much different from the Spring mantel.

I love how easy it was to transition it to last through the summer months. And, if I want to change it for any reason I simply just need to change the sign out.

Everything that comprises this mantel has been DIY'd with things I had hanging around the house. The main backdrop was made from some old distressed shelves - you can see how that was done here .  The white backdrop was made with some panels we removed from a table we redid.  I merely painted them and hung them up on the wood panel.

The fabric rag wreath I made several years ago but, is one of my favorites that I use over and over in my decor.  The tutorial for it can be found here. I love how easy this one is to do and have made several for different holidays and seasons.

The bottles were painted with the method explained here I use this method a lot to make plain glass into beautiful decor pieces.  These are bottles I thought had interesting shapes and saved after emptying them.  I love how they turned out and how the blues just pop.  Filling them with "faux" yellow forsythia branches was the perfect touch.

The beach house sign I made with my Chalk Couture products.  I used the beach house transfer, morning sky and liberty chalk paste, and the 9x18 box frame using an ombre technique.  This project is so simple to do that it took me literally less than 15 minutes to make it.  Now, that's my type of crafting.  I will be sharing the tutorial to make this sign next week.  However, if you would like to make your own you can find the products in my shop at Chalk Couture.  Check it out and browse around there's a lot of fun things over there.

That's it - two simple changes and 30 minutes later my Spring mantel is ready for all the summer months.  Gotta love quick, easy, and oh, so pretty.  Do you change your mantel seasonally, for holidays, or just leave it year round.  I love to hear from you so tell me about it in the comments below.

I will be linking up to the parties listed on the Where I Party page.  Please go by and check them out as you'll find all kinds of great projects and inspiration.
