I think I have finished with all the Christmas decorating for this year. I usually do a lot more but with the move taking so much energy and still not having all the things done I need to do for Christmas I find I need to stop.
I thought I would show you what I have done in the living room first. I had really held off doing this room because we had very little furniture in here. But the sofa was delivered this week and that makes such a big difference that I proceeded with it.
I decided to showcase my collection of Santas in this room. I have been collecting them for many years and have over 100 but kept it to just a few this year.
Santa is my favorite character and I used to have a Christmas tree with all Santa ornaments on it This china cabinet has a few nestled in among the china tea cups and saucers that I also collect.
This is our Christmas tree this year. I always have a tree decorating party with my grandkids every year. I do all the lights, garland and the tree top before they come over then they add all the ornaments but this year I let them do the whole thing.
I think they did a pretty good job even if it isn't the way I would have done it. I have not touched a thing on it since they finished.
I showed you the entryway a couple of weeks ago. Here it is from the living room.
Moving on to the family room you will find our Let It Snow mantel. I love the glistening of the snow and the pop of the white against the rustic pallet back drop. I think this is my favorite one so far. On the sofa is the Wreath pillow I made from a drop cloth.
On the ottoman is a tray that holds two mercury glass candle jars, some "faux" greenery, some old books and a jar filled with pine cones, red ornaments and more greenery.
You will also find our Nutcracker collection on the ladder shelves in the family room.
There are a few touches of Christmas in the kitchen as well. On the half wall between the kitchen and the family room are some more of the Nutcrackers surrounding an ironstone pitcher with a "faux" flower arrangement. Above this little vignette is a Burlap wreath that I added a little greenery and a red and white chevron stripe burlap bow.
On one of the counters you will find our coffee/cocoa bar. This has a cake plate sitting on a Keurig cup drawer cabinet. On the cake plate are mason jars with small Christmas tags tied on with bakers twine. These house flavored marshmallows, chocolate chips and colorful straws. The coffee mugs sit around the cake plate for easy access. This is definitely a go to spot for everyone.
That ends the tour of our house for today. I hope you enjoyed it and gained a bit of inspiration from some of the things I have shown you.
