Easy Christmas Rag Wreath

I have lived most of my adult life in the South and still it is so hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit when it's still so warm we have the windows open.  However, Christmas will soon be here and for those of us who love to craft our Christmas decor -  we need to get started.   I have been picking up a few things here and there to work with and am getting excited about putting it all together to share with you.  This year I am changing my decor up a bit and I think I'm going to love it.  I have fallen in love with all things red and black buffalo plaid and have lots of projects for you.  Today I'm going to show you a little hint of what I'm going to be doing - I have my first Christmas craft of the season for you.

                                    Easy Christmas Rag Wreath

This is one of my easy rag wreaths that I have the tutorial for here.  I love making these wreaths because they are so quick and easy to make and require so few supplies to do so. 

All you need to make one of these is a wire wreath form, a pair of scissors and 2 yards of your favorite fabric or use several different fabrics for a whole new look.  I used a 12" wreath form for this one as it will be hanging on my kitchen door.  You can often times get these wreath forms at Dollar Tree at this time of year for - you guessed it - $1.  I usually stock up on them for the year when I find them. 

 Next, you will need a great movie to watch, or a beautiful afternoon to sit on the patio and some coffee while you tie little strips of fabric to the wreath form.  Easy, but does take a while to do.  I love them because I can have one done in an afternoon.

Here it is hanging on a shiplap wall with a bouquet of dollar store berries, holy and pine in a dollar store vase and a beautiful mercury lantern candle.  I found the lantern at Marshall's a couple years back.  A simple, rustic, farmhouse vignette to start the season.
