Girly Girl Bedroom

Good day everyone.
So happy you found me here at the new site.... Today I'm going to show you what I've been working on for the last 6 months...Yep - it's taken me 6 months to do this makeover-  Unbelievable.

Vintage, Paint and more... before version of a girly girl room

This is Miss A's room and how it looked when we moved in 6 months ago.  Just a simple bedroom with sage green walls and medium green carpet.  No need to change the color as it was exactly what we wanted.  Now - I am warning you this is a real girly girl room.  So - here's the after

vVintage, Paint and more... little girls room with ruffled Anthropologie inspired bedspread and thrifted, painted furniture

Very pink, very ruffly, and very girly.....  Right what Miss A ordered...

Vintage, Paint and more... little girls room done with vintage upcycled and painted furniture

Everything in this room has been thrifted and redone, built from scratch, or handmade....

Vintage, Paint and more... custom built bed for little girls room

Her bed was built by Dad and I painted it for her.  I also made the ruffly bedspread after seeing one from Anthropologie that was similar.  I made the bed skirt, pillow shams and curtains.  All from co-ordinating fabrics that she approved.

Vintage, Paint and more... whimsically painted department store table for a little girls room

I love this little flower table it goes so well in here.  You can see its make over here.

In this picture you can see her desk ( makeover here ), her vanity ( makeover here ), and a hot pink butterfly chair that was handed down to her from her older sister.

Vintage, Paint and more... pink trunk for girly girl room to store dress ups

At the foot of the bed is a hot pink trunk Dad found at Hobby Lobby marked down from $79 to $25.  This holds all her dress-ups.  And, on most days a part of her huge collection of stuffed animals sits on top.

Vintage Paint and more... little girls room decorated with painted thrift furniture and crafts

We hung some really cute pink paper lanterns in the corner of her room.  We found these at World Market for under $5.  I used some scrapbook supplies I had on hand to decorate them and then hung them from the ceiling with ribbon.

Vintage, Paint and more... Little girls room furnished with thrifted repainted furniture

I still have a couple of projects left to do.  The book case has to be painted. I am thinking white with a back wall of pink or purple.  She will have to approve whatever it is.  We also have a little wrought iron vanity chair that has to be painted and the seat recovered.  I will be posting them as soon as I get them done. (Hopefully before another 6 months)

I really love how this girly girl room turned out.  I would have loved to have had a room similar to this when I was little.  I will be posting some of the accessories we made for the room in the next few days.  Miss A helped me put some of them together.  So, what do you think of the girly girl room?   Could we have gotten it a bit more girly?

Have a great day and until next time
enjoy your life doing what you love......
