Twine Wrapped Table

Hi everyone - hope you are having a wonderful fun and relaxing Memorial Day weekend as we are.  We are busy getting a few projects done around here as I know many of you are also. Today I am going to bring you a little project that takes some time but is very simple to do.  A cute little beachy table with a twine wrapped top.

I am so into this twine wrapping craft right now and keep looking for new things to wrap. For me it's quite a relaxing process and the outcome is usually quite phenomenal.  This little table started out as a very simple little table.

Vintage, Paint and more... DIY wood table

T made this table a few years ago to sit on our patio and it has served its purpose well doing just that.  However it was looking a little plain and simple and I wanted to jazz it up a bit.  So one day I got the bright idea to wrap the top in twine.  Papa thought I had lost my mind but I had an idea of how cute it would turn out.

So when I found this awesome roll of "Corde Jute" being sold at Wal-Mart for  $1.99 I just knew what I wanted to do with it.  It only took one of these rolls to do the whole table top.

I started by turning the table upside down and wrapping one row on the underneath side of the edge.  Then continued around the entire edge before turning it back right side up.

Then I began wrapping round and round the table top itself.  This is not difficult but takes a couple of hours to do.

The finished top is totally awesome in my book.  I love how it looks.  Exactly what I had imagined.

This is the finished table.  I decided to leave the post of the table white - I had thought about painting it a beach blue but will live with it like this for a while and see how I feel about it.

And here it is all dressed up in our beach themed patio design.  I love it! So fitting for coastal decor.  Now, what else can I find to wrap because I am definitely not finished with this jute.
What do you think - maybe you would tackle a twine wrapped project?  What would it be if you did?
