A Beach Inspired Vignette

I have been so inspired by the beach this year that almost everything I am doing reflects that.  Today I am bringing you another beach inspired vignette that I have put together that sits on our ottoman in the living room.

As you may have ascertained by now - I am in love with the beach and all things that pertain to it.  So I have been using these things to bring the beach into our home this summer.  I love the calming effect it gives with the blues of the ocean and the browns of the sands.

This little vignette started with an old round basket I picked up at the thrift store one day for $1.00.  I added some old books sans covers and then some candle holders I just made.

I used Dollar Tree candle holders and some clothesline rope to wrap them with using hot glue to keep it in place.  I then just glued a little ribbon embellishment on them to make them just a little more decorative.  Then I placed some blue ombre candles in them.  I think they turned out pretty nautical looking with their little bits of gold star ribbon added to them.

To finish the vignette off I added a large clam shell and a starfish I had and then, of course, I had to add my bird.  I sat all of it on a round rush place mat that I picked up at Good Will - 4 of them for $2.00.  I love how it gives the feel of the beach with all of these thrifted budget friendly elements.

I have a couple more beach inspired projects I will be sharing with you - one that Miss A helped me with.  Be sure you come back so you don't miss out on any of these fun projects to bring the beach and ocean into your home.  You might want to check out our beach inspired porch also.

I love to hear you so give me a "hi" in the comments below.  I answer all comments through email.

Until next time - have fun creating something you love.
Hugs,

I will be linking up to the parties listed on the "I Party At " page above.
